Haskell Runway Constitution (Revised)

ARTICLE I. NAME AND PURPOSE

Section A. Name

The official name of this organization shall be Haskell Runway.

Section B. Purpose

Haskell Runway promotes and spotlights Indigenous excellence through fashion, art, and community engagement.

The organization celebrates Indigenous creativity by hosting workshops, collaborations, educational programming, and an annual student-led fashion showcase.

Section C. Guiding Values

Haskell Runway is guided by the values of cultural respect, Indigenous sovereignty, community accountability, creativity, and student leadership development.

ARTICLE II. MEMBERSHIP

Section A. Eligibility

Membership is open to all currently enrolled Haskell Indian Nations University students who support the mission of the organization.

Section B. Active Members

Members who attend at least three (3) official meetings each academic semester and participate in organizational events during that semester shall be recognized as Active Members in good standing.

Section C. Conduct

All members must demonstrate respect, professionalism, and inclusivity in organizational activities and public representation.

ARTICLE III. COMMITTEES

Committees may be established as needed to support organizational activities. Committee chairs shall report progress to the Executive Board.

ARTICLE IV. EXECUTIVE BOARD

Section B. Duties

All Executive Board members support organizational planning, event coordination, and leadership operations.

President: Provides leadership, presides over meetings, oversees operations, and represents the organization externally.
Vice President: Assists the President and assumes leadership duties in their absence.
Secretary: Maintains records, meeting minutes, and official organizational documentation.
Treasurer: Manages budgets, financial tracking, and compliance with university financial procedures.
Social Media Manager: Oversees digital communications, promotional campaigns, and brand consistency.
Community Engagement Coordinator: Develops partnerships, coordinates outreach, and supports collaborations with designers, artists, and organizations.

Section C. Executive Authority

The Executive Board shall serve as the governing leadership body responsible for operational decisions, event approval, and financial recommendations between general membership meetings.

ARTICLE V. MEETINGS

Regular meetings shall be held at least once per month during the academic year. A quorum shall consist of one-half of the Active Members.

ARTICLE VI. ELECTIONS AND TERMS

Officers shall be elected annually by a majority vote of Active Members present. Terms begin at the conclusion of spring elections and continue until the following election cycle.

ARTICLE VII. ADVISOR

The organization shall maintain at least one university-approved advisor who provides guidance and ensures compliance with university policies. Organizational decisions remain student-led.

ARTICLE VIII. FINANCIAL MATTERS

All financial activities must comply with Haskell Indian Nations University policies. Funds shall be used only for organizational purposes aligned with the mission.

ARTICLE IX. AMENDMENTS

Amendments may be proposed by any Active Member and adopted by a two-thirds vote of Active Members present at a meeting where quorum is established.
